Katimavik Elementary School Council

The Katimavik School Council is made up of parents, caregivers, and the community working together with our Principal, teachers, and the school board on issues that impact our kids - making education fun and fair to all.

We also raise money for school equipment and learning materials and run many of the programs that help to make Katimavik Elementary the exceptional school we’re proud to send our kids to. Come join us at our next meeting – everyone is welcome.

If you want your kids to have the same opportunity this year, you need to get involved!  Last winter we enjoyed a great skating season. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the tireless efforts of Johnathan Haines. He has offered to do it again this year, and we promised him that we would be there to support him.  Without him, your kids would not have had the opportunity to experience an outdoor skating rink right next door to their classroom!  The rink was used on a daily basis, and almost every single student at Katimavik had the opportunity to benefit from Johnathan's hard work.

Unless we can fill up our on-line sign-up sheet, we will not be able to support the outdoor rink.  Please don’t fall into that trap that "somebody else will do it".  That somebody is you!  We have more than 600 kids, plus an entire community counting on us.  We need your help!  

ARC Committee Timeline of Upcoming Milestones

·         January 31, 2012:  Staff presents Recommendation Report to the Committee of the Whole

·         February 2012:  Committee of the Whole reviews ARC & Staff Recommendation Reports

·         March 8, 2012:  Committee of the Whole receives public delegations 7 p.m.

·         April 2, 2012:  Committee of the Whole debates Staff Recommendation Report

·         April 24, 2012:  Final approved decision by the Trustees

·         April 25, 2012:  Communicate approved motion for September 2012 and beyond
